DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Much is said about Chernobyl tragedy

Undoubtedly it is the most large-scale anthropogenic catastrophe of the 21st century. This trouble concerns not only the three neighbouring countries – Belarus, Ukraine and Russia, it also concerns Europe and the whole world. Radioactive pollution has become a heavy blow for agriculture and economy of the polluted countries. Ecological catastrophe influenced the conditions and changes of the regional nature for many decades ahead. Chernobyl tragedy had a harmful effect on physical health of nations… But it’s not the end of the story!

For a long time Eastern Palesse and Central Padniaprouje

have been a unique environment of the regional culture, where primordial folk singing, music, dance and everyday life traditions were preserved. It’s not a secret that long since, especially beginning from the 60-ies of the 21st century, adjoining territories of the three USSR republics became a kind of Proshcha (place of worship) of the most famous ethnographers-slavists. Unique retention of traditions in spite of total technical progress has attracted scientists every year…

Explosion

This event completely destroyed physically untouched for thousands years regional culture. People, who were living closely connected with each other by a traditional way of life, were detached from each other and scattered all over the world. Instead of village houses they were given modern houses and cottages, they were treated in modern medical establishments… Their bodies were treated, but not their souls… In fact, their way of life and tradition will never come back to the polluted land in the form they existed.

Slavic Atlantis disappeared forever

The only thing left is to fight for life and health of youngsters who have to live! But one should remember what immense cultural heritage the residents left after them. This is the unquestionable treasure of Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian national cultures as well as the whole Europe…

Type of pilot festival – corporative, according to a preliminary application.

Individuals, public and state establishments, business and fund organizations – everyone who is interested in supporting folk traditions and willing to help victims of Chernobyl catastrophe is welcome to take part in the festival.
